The Fundamental Human Need to Belong and the Depravity of Not Belonging Chronically Exists In the Lives of Adopted Children
Exploring What Is Belongingness....
In adopted childhood we do not belong, we do not fit and are ostracized, isolated and segregated. In an adoptee's adulthood we seek to find what it is, that is missing, yet can never objectively pinpoint what the missing part of us is.
What adoptees are missing is belonging. Adoptees and adopted children do not belong to the place we are or to the people who possess us. They may own us but we do not belong to them. We Only belong to our own genetic kind, we belong to our maternal and paternal biological tribes, and they belong to us.
